Lily Z. Hudson

Founder and Executive Director

Growing up in a music-loving family, Lily spent her early years actively involved in community events, bands, and choirs, which nurtured a deep appreciation for arts and culture and their ability to connect people.

Lily holds a degree in Business Management and worked in international trade and supply chain for over 20 years. After immigrating to Canada in 2000, her own immigrant experience, along with witnessing the challenges faced by newcomers—including language barriers and social isolation—deepened her awareness of the need for stronger community connection and support. These experiences inspired a meaningful shift in her life’s direction.

In 2013, she founded Redleaf Cultural Integration, with a vision of bringing people of all backgrounds together and supporting newcomers in finding a sense of belonging. She began by developing programs for Chinese seniors experiencing isolation, creating opportunities for connection, cultural familiarity, and friendship. Over time, her work expanded into broader community cultural events that foster cross-cultural understanding and shared experiences among diverse groups.

Lily is guided by the Confucius proverb: “Everything has beauty, but not everyone can see it.” Through her work, she remains committed to helping communities recognize and celebrate the beauty in every culture and every individual.
